 I had cut all the peonies in bloom right before a heavy rain to save them from being washed out.

I agree with the cut off feet..I really didnt like that, but..I entered anyway.

Just back to comment as I bump this from 9 to 10. The lighting, colours, textures and the mystery the mask brings is all just fabulous. To be honest you had me with the lighting, colours and textures - I'd have rated it just as highly without the mask.

Just super-accomplished.

I love the color scheme, arrangement of props, and vintage feel to this. However, your pose looks a bit stiff, your feet are cut off at the ankles, and overall I feel it's a bit on the bright side, almost overexposed. A little cloning in darken mode to the glare on the skin, as well as, selective burning around border and corners would really make this pop, imo. Also, I think an improvement in pose would be to hook your feet under the crossbar of the chair while crossed at the ankles (feminine); and to not show the broad side of your hands, (masculine). One last issue is that there's a bit too much room at the top. 8

I like your peonies but the way you are sitting with such a rigid back you look like you may be sitting on a peonie or two.

I find it distracting the way your arms are set. It doesn't seem natural and is a cause for distraction (e.g. your right arm leaning on the chair and our left arm not seeming to know where it should be. Your arms are not conveying the same message as your head and body.

The other distraction is the cropping of the feet.

That being said, exposure, dof, lighting, contrast, and all the technical aspects of the photo are spot on in my opinion.

Thank you -- for giving me something to give a higher vote than 4 so far :) (sorry. My first few voting photos in this challenge were awful) But THIS is fabulous! Interesting. Story telling. Amazingly processed, and I love the mask. It's an artistic flash of the unexpected. Nice job!!!

Love the concept, love the layout, and love every thing in the image, the only thing that would of taken this from a 7 to a 10 IMHO would of been if the image would of been a bit softer. It would of added to the feel for me.
