Oh Bear...this one is quite pretty. Compositionally, I enjoy the layers of landscape as my eye travels from front to back from the boat in the foreground, the second boat, the little birds in the farther distance, and the horizon of bushes in the distance. I especially like the little bush on the left which completes the scene for me. The S shape of the water creates easy going lines for this relaxing and peaceful image, and then wonderfully completed and framed by the horizonal line in the far background. In every layer of the scene, I have something of interest to gaze upon!
The colors of the boat are brilliantly displayed against the more demure background. I'm quite enjoying the colors of the boats! However, I'm not falling in love with the background color palette as strongly as the striking red boat in the foreground and blue boat in the middle ground. The misty background creates the perfect "mood" for the scene, but the warm tones of the background create a somewhat muggy feeling for me...and I want to enjoy my morning coffee in crisp cool misty morning colors. Compositionally, I prefer this image over the first one because I feel the complete story here...in a more immediate sense.
But, don't take my word for it...these thoughts are just my meager ramblings about images that are all just beautiful, BEAR...my HERO! ;-)
