Photograph Information Photographer's Comments
Challenge: Tilted III (Basic Editing)
Camera: Canon EOS-7D
Lens: Canon EF-S 10-22mm f/3.5-4.5 USM
Location: My mailbox
Date: Jun 22, 2010
Aperture: f/11
ISO: 400
Shutter: 1/40 sec
Date Uploaded: Jun 22, 2010

I must give credit to John Fielder who took the shot at the end of the mailbox. It is a favorite of mine no matter who took it. It is of Hallett Peak in Rocky Mountain National Park in Colorado. The view from my mailbox is not of the gorgeous Colorado high country but an odd looking house that seems to have a new owner every 3 years or so. This image works much better.

Post:

My first DQ. I knew I was riding the line with this one, but I thought the image at the end was secondary to the challenge "Tilt" Meaning the mailbox was the main subject. Guess SC didn't think so. But what if I had not given credit to John Fielder in my comments? Didn't mean to try to fool anyone. Just thought it was a neat concept to try.
Disqualification Details
You may include existing images or artwork as part of your composition as long as the entry does not appear to consist entirely of a pre-existing photograph in order to circumvent date or editing rules or fool the voters into thinking you actually captured the original photograph.

I'm sure there is debate in the comments over if the view should be in focus or not, I'm not sure but it does bug me a little, so perhaps yes?
