 Kenilworth Castle

Processed in Nikon Capture NX2, added a desaturation step at the very end allowing me to do pretty aggresive editing of colour and luminance curves to bring out the contrasting details in the castle. Reduced in photshop pro (including 'one step photo fix' ... yuck but it worked)

In colour this shot is rather, shall we say overprocessed but in B&W it works a treat. Helped a lot by not being a rushed shot 3 evenings to scout out and one evening simply taking the shot at various points whilst the sun set.

Previous entries of mine have often drawn postive comments about my treatment of colour, if regretably negative about other vital aspects - this year though I'm feeling very B&W

i bet this was a majestic site in it's day - i just wonder about the choice of crop - the vertical direction seems to make the building lose some of its dominance on the scene
