Congratulations! I like the eye contact, it is such a funny, seemingly both amused and apprehensive. I like the toned down colours. I am not quite sure I like the car shadow coming out of his head, it even almost looks like a police car. :)

Way to go, Steve! I knew this one would do great. What a whipped expression that guy has. You're the best at this kind of photography. Congratulations on the honorable mention.

Well done. I like that you've stooped down to his level, and got his whole body in the frame.

Excellent. Spot on for the topic, in my opinion. Direct, yet not too close. Love it.

This guy has some serious energy about him. You think you should be wary, but not really, there is a sense of humor in that gaze. Fantastic.

Great light. The grungy, semi-desaturated look works well, and I'm glad you didn't over-do it.

Comment only from a non-voting, non-member: Looks like a distant relative of George Carlin. An interesting capture with a color tonal range that emphasized the bleakness of the subject.

This is a great street portrait. Like how you positioned him on the stoop. Quite an interesting character study. Looks like he had a hard life; with the bags under his eyes, lines on his face; tats on his arms, maybe scars on his right shoulder. If you posed him (or just asked him to sit), his shoulders drooped over also gives an impression of a hard life. I also like your processing, as the blues look toned down a touch, giving the entire image a "depressed" tone (if that makes sense.) Outstanding street portrait.

Oh man! This has to win! I've been thru most of the pictures now, and this is it. You're the best at this! I'm not voting on this challenge, but I'm definitely picking this one for a ribbon.
