Good Job. Nice Pic.

Wow! I like this - great colour and the highlights give it a sense of 'wetness'. Suggestion: crop in tighter on the left to give it some balance.

This is one photos that definitely looks better when it is enlarged. I am a little curious about the shadow. Did you use a separate flash or do you rotate your camera to the right instead of the left? Something about the shadow, maybe the location of it, bothers me a little. It's fairly minor though. For me it is the vibrant blue and the sparkles that make this photo stand out. I would have cropped even tighter and focussed more on the lines of the swirls. Technically it is very clear and sharp without any flaws. The creative factor is very high. It's not everyday that you see a photo of ink in this fashion. Nice job.

Great photo! One of my favorites. I love the stars from the flash and the beautiful smoothness of the blue paint. Makes me want to put my fingers in it.

Thank you all for your comments. I didn`t expect to do this well in the challenge and i`m well pleased with 3rd place.
Quite a few of you have asked if i used a filter to get the star effect. I wish i could say i did, but it was just a fluke caused by the flash and the many strip lights overhead. I did little to the photo apart from crop and levels. Thank you all for your votes. Marbo.

marbo, congrats on 3rd :) This is an interesting shot.. I was just curious if the 'star' effect is natural or if you used a star filter on this shot... great work :)

Don't know what it is or how you did it, but I like it. Photography wise technically right on. Sure meets the challenge. The white stars just add to it. Way to go, great job. PTL 9

Absolutely blue! And I love the stars. I f this doesn't at least place in the top 10, I'm giving up on DPC for good. The shadow is the only thing that might possibly hold it back. Still, a 10 from moi.

Great clarity and good reflections on the ink--lovely composition--and good colour well done

Awesome blue. Little bits of glare are hard to eliminate, but in this case I think they make the picture better because they establish texture. 9

I love the saturation of the blue, and the sparkles add a nice touch. Maybe could have used a bit of back lighting to remove the shadow in the back of the picture. Good Job and good luck. Jacko 8

Great photo. Magnificent color of blue. I love the light reflections. Without the shadow (although I don't know how you would have gotten rid of it) it's a 10. Even with it's a 9. Great photo.

I don't like all the light stars, there's just too many, it's still a nice shot though.

I love the way you have made all those little stars, is that with a filter on the lens? Great picture!

Ewe! Reminds me of fingerpaints. Definitely a color/texture photo. Seems a tad dark maybe, but I like the little light reflections.

My own preference would be to lose the sparkle. But a nice shot regardless. 7 Jak

What a great shot -- I can almost feel the "blue goo" by looking at it! My only minor beefs would be the shadow, and the texture in the upper right hand corner. I may have preferred it without those elements. I love the star effect of the sparkles -- did you use a star filter for that? -9 alansfreed

You really made the most of this subject! Its an interesting, but at the same time disgusting pic. Love the 10pt star filter. Wish I had one. Color is great and the highlights as well. Well done - Inspzil

Crisp rich blues.. and that sparkle! The focus is dead on. The top right bg distracts me a bit but it's a minor detail for a terrific dhot! 9 kosmik

Great photo. Especially like the starburst hilites. You can almost feel the texture of the ink in this shot. Definetly something I would put on my wall. 10!

looks more like paint. LOVE the star reflections and the wet looks, this will do well.

Very cool... did you use a star filter for this? I really like it! It might have been a little more effective on a white background but it's a great picture. The one thing that really bothers me is the shadow... I think in this case it detracts from the photo. Nice job though! Good luck!

Wow, this is really cool. The shadow is a bit distracting, but the stars make up for it. Beautiful color.

I love the shade and texture but the paint extending to the top is a little strange. Background is distracting with it's white streaks of maybe paint or something. Solid contrast would have been better but I really like the texture here and it outweighs the background.

Now, that's some kick-ass blue! The light sparkles.. very cool! That liquid oozy texture, it don't get no gooshier than that - I want to just grab a handful and smear it all over.. something. A 10 fer sure!

oooh oooh very cool. nice stop motion too... I am sure someone will recommend it for DQ because of the way the light flares appear... but wow they look so freaky and cool at the same time.. if it's legal it's a top contender for sure! I bet it makes my top 10 or 20... but still a lot of photos to look at.. :o) good luck
