 Sweet potato/yam inlaid with mashed russet/milk paste ... mixed CFL and incandescent lighting, Auto WB.

I deliberately over-sharpened this to create artifacts which act en lieu of specular highlights, to give the surfaces a more stone-like look, especially in contrast to the more dimly-lit and blurry background.

-USM at 66%/0.6 dia/TH = 5 (applied five times)

What are the odds of finding that one just while this challenge is up? Not sure if the background is a bit too busy for the used DOF. 6

LOL....cute idea! Not really loving the composition. Perhaps, having cropped out the right hand side??? Not sure what could have improved this at the moment but, it has more of a snap-shot look to it as it is here. 5

Good idea for the challenge. All those faces in food things are hilarious. It would have been good to not see your hand in the photo.
