Havent entered in a while. My last entry reminded me why. I noticed this challenge on the last day to enter. I needed lunch anyways so I picked up some ingredients to do this shot. Took me just about an hour to buy, prepare, shoot, edit and then eat the shot. I like food and making food look pretty. I am sitting on a 7.06 after the first 30 votes. Hopefully it holds throughout the week.

Post Challenge - A bit surprised at the score difference between mine and the other entries. Didnt think mine was that good. No complaints though. As for the recipe, it is pretty much what you see on the plate. Chopped yellow and red tomatoes, chiffonade of basil, fire roasted shrimp, julienne of vidalia onion and chunked avocado tossed with fresh squeezed lemon and olive oil. For the pic there was no fresh ground black pepper in it yet (I find for pics pepper looks ugly) but certainly in it before I ate it.

Nice of you to stop in and scarf up a blue. :-) Looks delicious!! (And I'd have guessed it was a Pawdrix shot.)

Congrats on the ribbon!
(Scrolled through the comments as last food challenge we had, I got SLAMMED for having the food actually be sharp in the shot. Go figure, lol!)
Beautifully done!

Well - the invite is open that anytime you are in Columbus you are more than welcome to swing by and I will present the pic in real life for you to enjoy. No dry pieces of toast here. ;)

Congrats on the blue! Glad you decided not to stay away from DPC (which I sort of gathered was more the result of doing other things than a deliberate choice to avoid). I encourage you to continue not staying away!

love how you present this meal, looks really tasty, nice fresh colors. only the fork distracts to me because it takes to much attention

Ok - after all my bitching and moaning about the low quality images in the challenge - this pops up. My highest rating so far and I hope to see this on the home page.

Really like the fork and the angle of the image. Lots of lovely colours too

Nice stock photo. And it looks quite tasty, too.
However, when photographing products (foods included) isn't it preferable to have the whole product (in this case, dish) in focus ?

Very clean with nice lighting. I only wish that there was the tiniest bit more depth of field.

Nice shot, this is one of the better ones in the challenge, but the focus to me seems more on the fork than the meal, 7.

Wonderful clarity to this shot. I like the tilted perspective, and good balance to the photo (bread offsetting the fork).

That looks tasty. As for the photograph, I like the shallow DOF, and the balance of the table in the two corners. Well done.
