This image was taken at the westend end of Siena, Italy... This was my favorite spot in the city... a small pond completely enclosed in an ancient sandstone and marble structure.. There were a ton of huge blue fish and just a single gold one..

Thanks for all the great comments and faves guys I'm very flattered:o)

One of my two favourite photos in this FS. Fantastic composition, detail and colour... minimalism at it's finest. Love your work and I've given it a 10 (after initially giving it an 8).

I love voting on Free Studies, looking for little gems like this one. That wall is utterly fabulous. I feel like the PHantom of the Opera will be gliding by in a gondola any moment now.

Unusual composition in some ways, but I like it.

I'm going through the entries, stopping at those images I feel have had the benefit of an unconventional eye and dwelling a little longer to try to see and appreciate what you saw. This is one of those images.

Positives: Very effectively done, the bold framing offer by the architecture, the dividing line between your air and water elelements, the subtle reflection - all good stuff. Of course the fish is the star.

Critical stuff: Should the fish (singlular) be the star? Or should the fish (pleural) be the stars. I 'm not sure.... I feel a little cheated - perhaps this one was a different colour, but the overall effect is one of it escaping selctiving coloring / desaturation.

Overall: I do like this, but not quite as much as I would like to have.

I actually said, out loud, "Whoa" when I saw the fish.

Wow... lovely job of it all. (not voting)
