 Well you can perhaps say it is just a statue. And yes of course it is and of course I didn't make it. But my photo represents both the freedom of the artist to express his own feelings and ideas and also our own freedom.

The name if it is "Helreiðin" (The Death-Ride) and is made by the icelandic artist Ásmundur Sveinsson, year 1944.

Adjustments with the picture was crop, sharp, levels and cloning (for one little defect in the sky).

I'm extremely happy with all those comments and the fact that the voting on this picture from commenting voters are in top 10 for this challenge (8.200). :)

But I have no real idea why the other voters did not like it more. :(

The clouds fit well with the statue, and the stark lighting works well here. The sharpness of the statue is great, really bringing out its texture. But sharpening has created some fringes where dark meets light. Try selecting the statue and contracting the selection by a few pixels before applying USM.

Great composition, good lighting, like the effect as well. Only thing bothering me is the sharpening halo visable under the statue. Icelandic?
