wow! Never edit on a laptop with a bad screen when you're used to regular monitors. I had no idea how bad this looked until today. No wonder it's getting a 4.7 -- on track for my worst score on DPC.

ah well, it'll still be a top 30 score!

(btw, I was thinking about the maytag repairmen type commercials -- operators are standing by, but they won't be needed type of thing. I also had no idea that I couldn't use anything specific in the shot. Learn something new every day! :)

Well, some are a bit too critical. I thought the grain and stark bg were on purpose. I stick with the 10...I like it.

Nice idea, not too thrilled about the pure white bg, 5.

A bit more DOF would be nice, and the BG isolation could have been done much better, as it is the lighting doesn't match the background..

This must be the operator I keep getting, about the same level of interest in my call!

too bad you can see the sticker on the volume control of the headset, and the patterned shirt is a little distracting... also, is that a hospital i.d. band on her wrist? A little bit of feathering will help soften the crop of the background, but I'm sure it was a good decision to crop that out for this challenge.

Lighting is kind of harsh. It's casting unpleasant shadows from the book. But composition is good. Might want to lose the white wrist band if you were really shooting this for stock. That makes the shot look like "patient" rather than "operator."

I recognize this girl and know it is a Wendy entry. I was going to leave some detailed feedback, but I see in the score thread that you saw the issues once you got to a better monitor.

I'm surprised you didn't find a way to put a headset on a bluebird or squirrel. :-}

The lighting is super harsh; very profound shadows. Not sure what's going on with the background - almost looks like it was selected in Photoshop and deleted.

This has the right idea, but is a little poorly executed. It also does not appear to be something a company would use to demonstrate operators are standing by.

Good general idea, but I don't think it would work super well as a stock photo. Some suggestions:
- To be stock, it feels like it must be plain, so the book needs to be generic
- The shirt/wristband are distracting
- Looks like your lighting is causing some harsh reflections (see the white spots on the twizlers?)
