Greetings from Critique Club:

First Impression: What can I say, star trail images are beautiful. With all our modern technology, contemporary society often neglects the beauty above our heads. When we see a well-executed photo like this, we are sent back to a time when we depended on the stars for many aspects of our existence.

Technicals:
I can't say there is anything I'd change about this image. It's technically sound straight from the camera. A very well-executed image.

Artistically:
I enjoy your composition and use of framing devices. Although, some of the lights on the horizon are a bit distracting.

How to grow it's vote:
I can't say I can give you any ideas on that. It's well executed, fits the challenge. Has a bit of "wow factor", the rest is up to the voters.

In closing, I really enjoyed your photo and am glad it was put in front of me to critique. Keep up the good work.

Hey, I was only about 30 miles away, on Lake Groton, VT! Funny we both entered star trail shots using the same lens! When I saw yours, I thought "that's what mine should've been."

Does your camera not get hazy spots along the edge from sensor heating?

Congrats on top 10!

VERY impressive for minimal. You either have a very clean sensor (no dead pixels) or the camera accomodates those nicely. Excellent exposure!

Your shot makes me jealous that I didnt think of star trails... excellent photo, especially considering the minimal editing. Congrats on a great shot.

I don't know what impresses me more - the beauty of the shot or the lack of hot pixels! I'm looking forward to seeing what camera you used.

Simply brilliant for Minimal editing! I'm amazed the lights on the shore are not more blown with that length exposure. The exposure of the sky is perfect and composition draws my eye to the star trails then to the tree and back to the shore then to the stars again. MAGIC!
