The museum of modern art in Fort Worth is a piece of modern art itself. I already knew that the next time an architecture challenge came up, that this is what I wanted to shoot for it.

This building faces due east, so it had to be a morning shot. I've shot it in the evening before and it took way too much tonemapping to coax enough detail out of it.
Museum of Modern Art

We got out the door at about 6:45 and arrived at the museum at 7:00 so I could get the early morning light on it. It was worth getting up early on a day off. This was one of the first shots I took, and it may be the best. I love the way the rising sun can be seen reflected behind the column.

Anticipated critiques:
-Perhaps someone may feel the cutout wall on the left is a distraction and I should have chosen a different perspective.
-Maybe a touch too centered.

Post-challenge notes:
A top ten in a challenge with a lot of "wow" shots, and my #3 highest scoring entry! Not shabby at all, I think. This one kept me on the edge of my seat all week. Thanks for all the great comments. I had fun with this one.

One of the top-two photos in this challenge in my opinion... nice work.

This feels so serence. The water is a perfect, smooth glass. And the warm tones of the buildings agains the cool sky is perfect.

The almost perfect stillness of the reflections are disorienting (in a good way). The large concrete structure on the left presents an interesting balance to the other structures (especially considering that it's reflection is less detailed than all the others. One of my favorites!

You've found great location and fantastic light. However, I find the composition is on a weak side. My eye is missing geometrical precision here, which would have made it way stronger.

This is quite eye catching! Wish the composition could have been a little different. The object on the left is interesting, but a little awkward. Still a very striking photo. (voting later)

Wonderful reflections. Both on the water, and of the sunset, as well as the shoreline on the right. Compositionally, the railing on the left has way too much weight for the delicacy of the rest of the image.
