The quote originally said by the Apollo 13 crew was "Houston, we've had a problem." Oh, and it's a dragonfly people, geeze!

Yup, he's dead. I spent all morning out in a field in search of a live one to shoot in its natural environment, but couldn't find one. I came home and there was a dead one laying right there in the lawn. Go fig...

This is my 50mm reversed and with a 36mm extension tube. I put a diffusion screen between him and a window. I also threw a flash back there from the right.

I knew right away what this was when I saw it (or, at least, I knew what the wing was and quickly deduced the larger subject). I didn't vote, but this really is an awesome shot. The relevance to the quote is perfect, but the silhouette of the head with crossed legs is pretty haunting (quite reminiscent of Alfred Hitchcock). Very cool- fav for sure.

I agree with Steve, but I didn't vote this challenge. Great use of the quote for sure and a terrific feel to the photo.

You got robbed. Big time. This is wayyy better than a low 5. I gave this a 7, but if I'd revisited my votes, I probably would have bumped it up. Great semi-abstracty stuff. I think I'll fave it.

Need a little more depth of field. Can't tell what the problem is.

I like the texture in the foreground, but I'm having a little trouble figuring out what I'm looking at and how it relates to the title.

No idea what this is ... at first. I like an image that makes you look a while. Very nicely done. Very much like the colour.

Cleverly done, from the D-Fly 'shadow' to the close focus on torn wing. the quote is accurate, if based on the movie, inaccurate if based on the real event, so tough one.

Lovely - dof and coloration and shapes - shape in the background is almost comical - is it a dragonfly? Or ET? You made me look at this for a long time.

I can't quite discern what this is. And that only makes me like it more. Abstracts always suffer in here but you have my vote.

I have no idea what I am looking at, but it's cool looking. Has the appearance of a cowboy and a rattlesnake, which certainly fits the title.
