The star trails captured 9/11/2010 at Oceanside of Oregon - to pray for the world peace, always and forever.

Regarding Abra's and tome's questions, the ocean held still and kept silence for 2 hours for me to pray, haha, just kidding. It was a large area of well leveled ultra fine sands which retained moisture for hours after the tide receded. It's smooth enough to provide good reflections yet held still for hours. I have another shot taken during sunset hour which shows this more clearly, but I won't post it here so I can keep it for free study.

Thanks a lot to all who saved HighNooner from leaving DPC! This is a manual hdr without AEB nor photomatix. Photoshop done all the PP. Thank you so much for all the comments!

Hi any tips please on the tools to remove the noise. I took a photo on Friday night, got much of the noise out but still left with speckles one to three pixels in size.
Thanks

PP was about 5 hours total.

So clever to choose this spot where the water seems still.

Good going!

Very cool - hope this ribbons.

Only nit is the position of North Star being odd in the frame.

It's amazing how despite the long exposure, the water looks like it has these tiny ripples - like it was taken in a fraction of a second. Was there a flash involved? My favorite in this challenge and I'm anxious to see the camera settings.

Very nicely done! Outstanding presentation. I think the sky is the subject and the sea coast is supportive. One of my top picks in this challenge. Although, I don't like the distortion of the concentric circles around Polaris.

That's where I'm up to when your shot appears. I predict a ribbon for this great photo!! I'm curious, for such a long exposure the water doesn't appear very smooth. I hope you explain how this shot was achieved. Very well done! 9.
