 So ended up with a self portrait for my first properly posed portrait entry. Took the opportunity to have a bit of a play with my new lights too. I got the mood I was looking for with this, although the absence of space means the lighting wasn't quite where I wanted it to be. Nevertheless, a fun experience and I kinda like the shot.

I love this photo. I captures this guy's persona so well. It is well lit and really conforms to the challenge. I like the black background as well.

some smoke on the cigar would of made this less staged but I still like it! 7!

Terrific. The only thing missing is a lipstick kiss somewhere, on the collar or the cheek. Terrific lighting, but for some reason, the focus on the face is not nearly as sharp as on the chair and the hand with the glass.

Terrific. I love the lighting and the simple black and white. His leg is perfectly parallel with the bottom of the page, and the chair cushion's lines. Nicely done. I think the untied bow really adds, as it is a shape against the white shirt, that we aren't expecting in the shot. 8

Cool image with nice light. Separating black shoes and a black jacket from the background is pretty difficult, but you did it perfectly.
