A set up from Japanese tea ceremony (see "All Mimsy Were the Borogroves"). It's been a hobby of mine for 2 years now, very helpful in finding some balance in life.

Hello Amanda from the Critique Club

This is a very well 'Balanced' and thought out image, and beautifully presented.

The focus, detail, colour and tone are all excellent.

Your score is very good also
I cannot add anymore to it really or make any improvements
The D P C voters are a hard lot to please. LOL!
There were a lot of good images in the Balance Challenge, yours being one of them. I guess the problem is there can be only 3 winners

Enjoy your photography
Good luck with your future challenges
If you have any questions please feel free to P M me
Regards
Sally

I voted a few days ago:
Ascetic balance beautifully done. The backgroind pale color compliments the bamboo.

Does have a Zen feeling about it and I think the muted green colour of the background really helps with that. Simplicity and balance (of composition and objects) is key.

I like it, different. Harmony of elements. Interesting border, nice background color (tad noisy). Should do highly.

OK you have got me here, Asain cooking utensils and titled Zen, is it to do with a balance of health or lifestyle or something similiar, sorry but i found it hard to see balance although the image is composed well and is pleasant to view.

The green in the bowl could be a little brighter....

Very lovely design. Very serene and calm. Definetely gives more a "sense" of balance than other, more obvious uses of subject matter.

Kinda makes me think of an old guy in a rice field with a hat and a walking stick. Of course, I do tend to anthropomorphize pictures.

Beautiful, perfect, love it. Only thing I might have changed is the colour of the background, I would have made it whiter. 9

a very pleasing photo with a border that works against it's simplicity

VERY pretty capture. Your subject and zen theme are very indicative of balance. The subtle color palette and tones work very well here. As does the border you created. I give an 8

Wave I seen this wisk before? Not as Mimsy this time. Great green, very evocative of the ceremonial mood. The sense of balance here is very asian, lacking classical helenistic bi-symmetrical axis so it may not score too well, but it sure is sweet. Not sure about the fuzzy little border though.

A fine image, well composed and focused. The border detracted from the image in my opinion.

Tea please! Very nice composition but I think it needs a bit more or a lot less light. Good luck in the challenge.
