a client angel memory boxes asked me to create an image for their new website .. they provide 'angel memory boxes' to women/families who have lost a baby .. usually when a baby dies at birth there's nothing for the mother to take away .. my client provides a box with keepsakes and possibly a photograph as a memory .. the grieving mother can be in the ward with other mothers which is devastating & she leaves with nothing .. this happened to me so it was a job close to my heart ..
the client was very specific in what she wanted .. a child with wings wearing a nappy reaching up shot from behind ..
i was very fortunate to have a friend with 2 year old twins and photographed them on monday .. altho i might make some improvments i'm putting this version in the anything goes thread

if anyone's interested these are my original photographs .. clouds and star where brushes ..
check out my upmarket studio .. !!

So sweet. I can't imagine there is much that can bring comfort when you lose one so young, but the image of reaching for a star, surrounded by beautiful flowers, is really touching. Ther is no sadness here.

Goodness gracious!!! Angel in diapers. hee hee

What a wonderful thing they do. There is something similar here where the portrait is taken with all of the tubes gone (if it's a baby that did live through birth but is either terminally ill or has recently died). When I first heard about it, it made me think it was kind of morbid. but I guess a portrait (often with the parents lovingly holding the baby) is a treasure they thought they'd never have.

What a beautiful image. I hope that it can contribute to a restoration of hope in those who have lost their beloved little ones.

Roz - absolutely beautiful photo - looking at it and then reading the story, I have tears streaming down my face!
A child no matter what age is a sadness beyond belief - we lost our 16 year old nephew to cancer in Dec and my sister is still struggling as are the other family members

anyone would be honored to have this!

Very dreamlike. Certainly heavenly. I like your story on the reason for the shot as well. What a wonderful thing for the client to do with their time.
