 Female climber in Eldorado Canyon, Eldorado Springs, CO. The chalk bag brand is Mad Rock. Climbers use the chalk to keep their hands and fingers super dry to assure a good grip.

My alternate shot, which was a very close second. I thought the shadows would distract. And, the challenge submission didn't suffer from the same harsh lighting. As a matter of fact, could have easily met Basic Editing rules.

Post challenge: Guess the image had to be chalk on the street or chalk on the blackboard to get a good score from some voters. It's okay. I'd rather photograph a rock wall climber in real life than stage of photo.

I was one of your 8s, probably didn't get to bump my top picks. I love everything about this image, especially the line of tension in the rope and legs. Excellent sports photo.
