Photograph Information Photographer's Comments
Challenge: Mid-Day Sun (Basic Editing)
Camera: Canon PowerShot SX1 IS
Location: Delray Beach, FL
Date: Oct 21, 2010
Aperture: f/8
ISO: 80
Shutter: 1/125
Galleries: Architecture, Black and White
Date Uploaded: Oct 21, 2010

RAW conversion to duotone
In CS5: straightened and cropped, noise reduction, USM, slight curves adjustment, border, resized, saved for web.

I'm wondering if I will lose points because of the lens flare. I like it, because it echos the architectural detail above it. Good thing this is basic editing, or I would probably have removed it.

How colorful. The woman in black brings it to a new level, and the sun flare at the bottom right is a bonus. Others may not appreciate the yellow sky and some of the highlights, but I don't mind these at all.

I love it...to me "mid day sun" is as much about HEAT as it is about sun direction....this shot has the feel of GREAT heat...no doubt that sun is BEATING down.
