50+ MPH winds 15 ft. seas - sun shine - LIFE IS GOOD! My biggest challenge was steadying the camera on the tri-pod. If I would have let go of it, it would have toppled over.

Thank you all for your kind words and comments. If you look at my portofolio you see a lot of this South Haven lighthouse - hope you are all not getting board with this structure - but this day was my best shooting there so far!

Thanks again for the ribbon,
Drake

Congratulations on such a wonderful and spectacular shot, and on your Second Place. I have to laugh, though - Shots of the South Haven LH have been winning all over the place this past week. The October 26, 2010 storm was the strongest ever recorded on the Great Lakes, even surpassing that which sunk the Edmund Fitzgerald in 1975. You are truly one of the dedicated photographers!

Good photos of this lighthouse never fail to draw a crowd here at DPC, and for good reason. It's a thrill to go out and face a storm, and you captured the energy with this shot. Well done.

Stunning image. The sun seems quite low for mid-day, but perhaps that's due to your location.
