Challenge: Homemade Landscapes II (Advanced Editing VII*)
Camera: Canon EOS-400D Rebel XTi
Lens: Canon EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 II
Location: my home
Date: Nov 1, 2010
Aperture: 29

Date Uploaded: Nov 2, 2010

I actually made two separate scenes for this. The foreground with larger objects, then a separate platform for the back ground with miniature sized objects. I put some distance between the foreground and the background to add depth. I used a very small aperture so that I could try and get as much in focus as possible, which is really hard on a small scale like this.

Yeah! my first top 10 and an honorable mention! I am very excited. All the hard work was worth it.

Here is my set up, I don't have any way to light things indoors so I was forced to go outside and be at the mercy of the sun.

Hello from the Critique Club! Not much to say from this picture other than it is perfect. Finishing 5th is really good. Honestly I tried to find something wrong with the picture and I came up with nothing. Maybe next time place somebody in the picture. Gives it more where we are looking at or what view we are looking through. Again, 5th is good.

Missed out on a ribbon by 0.05! Way too close - When I last came 5th I was off by miles so I didn't feel bad. Congratulations on a "Personal Best" and "Honorable Mention" on your profile.

That fence is way too cute and the apples are fantastic! There's a lot of depth to the image and I realized after reading your notes how much effort you put into getting that depth into your picture. Something I need to learn since my pic bothered me for lack of depth.

This is very nicely done and very creative. For me, the lighting is a bit hot on the left side of the picture (top right of cauliflower and right side of furtherest asparagus head. I really like the "apples" in the "trees". Makes me smile.

This is such a happy, sunny scene. I really like it. You got a nice feeling of distance in it. The fence is perfect. I'm just sorry it is cropped so tightly on the top. Id like to see just a little more up there.
