This started out as a photo of a goldfish I took with my camera phone at Walmart. After many layers and a little bit of brush work, this is what I got. I'm quite fond of it.

This is so COOL! Very arsty; definately something I can see hanging on a wall in a gallery or a coffee shop somewhere. Love the stone texture for it gives off the feel of this being a colorful fossil. Love how the blue shading on the stone brings to mind water and bubbles - a lovely stone sea for this goldfish. The bold orange/yellow colors contrast beautifully off of the tones of the browns/creams and turquoise blues.

Just stunning! Love the colors that complement each other and the fact that the texture is stronger on the fish.

That is simply magnificent . . .

Every so often something just comes together when you are working on it - and this is one of those moments. A piece of artwork to be proud of.

Yes, the texture and crack gives it that antique fossilized look. Great balance and tones. I like it a lot.

its like the fish is fossilized, on fire or bleeding .. & there's an almost dreamy feel to this ..
love the way the water has become solid, trapping the fish forever .. :)

Wow - the textures in this are darn near three dimensional - especially on the fish. Very nice work!

Heh! I saw a video on the news today of a dog that went fishing in a street where a river had overflowed in Washington State. The salmon were crossing the road, it was the most bizarre thing. Anyway, this dog picked himself out a huge salmon, and carted it off to eat. I don't know why this made me think of that, but now I'm going to have to go find the link. I'll be back to add it.

Got it... link
