Challenge: Portrait Triptych (Advanced Editing VII*)
Camera: Canon EOS-450D Rebel XSi
Lens: Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 II
Location: Dinning room
Date: Nov 6, 2010
Aperture: f/4
ISO: 100
Shutter: 1/30
Galleries: Portraiture, Diptych / Triptych
Date Uploaded: Nov 7, 2010

Took 2 shots with the idea of using a very plain face and then use the face done up with make up to highlight the key areas of the face - the eyes and mouth.
Tried to shoot the 2 shots as close to the same size and perspective as possible to make the tritych layers line up easily.
Used a small reflector to light up the neck and also used the flash bounced off the left to light the left hand side of the face - had natural light coming in from the right hand side
Basically slightly desaturated the bottom image a bit and added a cooling filter to contrast the full colour and natural rich tones of the skin in the top layers.

Added a very small border and drop shadow to the two top layers. Used Gaussian blur to soften the skin on the top layers to contrast the bottom layer without the blur.
Sharpen, small amount of dodge and burn, resize, sharpen again, SFW.

This is by far my favorite of the challenge. An already great portrait and just a great way of showing the before and after editing. Sadly I gave out two other 10s....If I could, this would have been a 12.
