This is one of my shots from a Cyclocross race that I went to. It was great fun, and made for some awesome photo opportunities. These folks are completely insane, and if you get a chance, you should definitely check it out. They're essentially riding road bikes on off-road, completely muddy, obstacle riddled courses. The race is basically like a long sprint race.

Editing was simple, just some dust spot removal and BW conversion with silver efex. I shot this using a single SB900 on hotshoe, laying on my stomach with the lens and flash sticking up underneath the "Specialized" course boundary stuff.

Here's an outtake that I entered into FS. Did much worse ha, guess I chose the correct one for the challenge, eh?

Love the biker. Hate everything else in the scene. That's a problem.

This is a truly outstanding photo. Fits the challenge perfectly, but beyond that it's just an awesome capture. Exceedingly sharp stop motion, ideal perspective, and wonderful clarity and depth of field through the entire image. Shockingly well done.

As a cyclist myself I'm a sucker for a good cycle race shot...and this is a good one.
