I wanted to get the look of wet-plate collodion process that I think of as vintage, used by photographers such as Julia Margaret Cameron with their odd warm browns that seemed to imply colors that weren't there. The shooting style is in homage to the early days of photography, very straight forward framing with diffused light and shadow with no pure whites.

Taken in the wine cellar, these bottles were consumed years ago by my father. the ribbon along the bottom attached to a silver tasting cup from long ago.

I think after looking at the shot for a while what really makes it is the reflections.

I really love this. I saw it when I was looking to see if there was already a "wine" challenge. This is just great.

That 1964 Petrus Pomerol? Today that's a 6-8,000 dollar bottle of wine, LOL.

Great shot, one of my picks to win. Lovely details.

Well, it's interesting and you chose great subject matter. Advanced Editing allows for filters, and Photoshop is a very valuable tool, but you've let it be the main reason your photo is cool. Why don't you explore what shadows and perspective can do to transform this from website background to adventure photo?

Truly wonderful still life. Awesomely lit, great art direction, and the duotone is killer.
