Challenge: Posthumous Ribbon (Advanced Editing VII)
Camera: Canon EOS-5D Mark II
Lens: Custom Made Pinhole
Date: Nov 22, 2010

Thanks for all the great comments, and thank you Don for the gallery spot.

I've been shooting this scene all year, never quite getting it right. This was my fifth attempt, but first with my pinhole bodycap. There is tremendous satisfaction in finding a scene, and revisiting it until you finally get what you "see".

I thought that was a Donovan song...

Well it was, but it was a buddhist saw before that. That Donovan was just a leech.

Got to admire the heck out of anyone who shoots pinhole with a 5DmkII, LOL. Can I swap bodies with you? I doubt you can tell the difference for these shots...

Oh, yeah, it's beautiful. I had it narrowed down to a Leslie, a ZZ, or a Ben during voting.

I figured this was a pinhole and I half suspected it was Whiteroom or even Zeuszen. This was my top pick Ben, in fact I think it was the first image that showed up for me for voting and it was an instant ten. LOVE it.

The eye bounces around the composition finding seemingly many paths to escape -- but they're all dead ends. Wonderfully labyrinthic.

I love the abstraction to the basic shapes

The idea behind the Posthumous Ribbon is to encourage you to break the rules, to find new and different ways to express yourself. To free your mind to think clearly toward the solution that is certain to come, to laugh at world and at life, not doing what others are expecting you to do, but just following and listening to what's in your heart. DPC it’s a wonderful learning place where everyone should be supported on their way to be a photographer. A special attention should be aimed to those working hard with different views and approaches to photography, those not aligned with the mainstream taste and receiving no recognition. It’s our responsibility to support these photographers creating diversity and expressing different visions. Being active at the Posthumous thread it’s the best way to do it. Being active at the Posthumous thread it’s the best way to protect your and the other’s freedom of being different. Thanks for taking the time to enter this challenge. Stay wild.

this is a zeuszen image, an image that is itself an object. Any friend of zeuszen is a friend of mine.

I'm hanging this in the posthumous art gallery.

First I liked the image, then I didn't like it, then I did. Like the old zen paradox about a mountain. I had a quandary infinitum. Resolved in your favour. 8.

Hmmm.... Not my "kinda thing", but I can see how some artsy folks can like this simple image with interesting shapes. Good news, though... I'm not voting. *grin*

Zeuszen would be proud of this image, I think. Mysterious and inviting void.

I like the way it angles towards to darkness in the corner. Nice processing.

I can see only 3, maybe 4, but I can almost feel the rugged texture, which makes me think this image is in Braille! (not voting)

I love abstracts and many similar images. But although you might have some deep thoughts behind the composition and subject here, I have difficulties seeing it. 5. sorry...

I would really like this if it was in focus and straight - or even more tilted
