This is my all-time favorite image. The kids were doing what kids do--having a blast. I was just lucky enough to be there to capture the moment.

And, just in case you missed it, this was selected to be Kodak's Picture of the Day for Jan 31, 2005 (and unfortunately, I was unable to share that information publicly because that also happened to be the last day of voting for the Best of 2004 challenge). You can read about that here:

Very minor post-processing: rotated and cropped, and pushed the saturization.

Wow, just noticed this on the sunset thread. This such a simple image, yet one that is visually spectacular.

What a great moment you captured here. Such a feeling of joy. I wish I could be a child again.

This is one of those moments which can never be recreated and if you hadn't captured it frozen, we wouldn't have seen it. The horizon looks a bit tilted, but I am not sure if it needs to be adjusted. It works for me as it is. Excellent work.

I like this photo very much. The color is lovely and memorable, and the kids look like they are just having a great time. Though the composition works for me, the horizon appears ever so slightly tilted, and the little boy's one-legged look is a little odd. I could also see this cropped in portrait mode, though it would cut out the sun breaking through, which, for me, seems to give the shot some balance.

Awesome colors!

The photo feels like it is slightly tipped to the right. I don't know if it's my eye or the weight of the kids on the right side. I wish Beau's leg was in view avoiding the stork look but timing is everything. They appear to be having a great time.

Just wondering -- how would look as a vertical crop with the kids closer to the edge?
