 I purchased a new camera and decided to join DPC again. Over the past few years I've spent more time painting than shooting photographs. Most of my paintings are from photographs so I hope to pursue both this year. I'm currently playing around with this portrait inspired by the work of Chuck Close. I thought it would make an interesting composition for the challenge.

I like the idea. Not sure if I like the crop through the middle of her head. Less table and more head would have been better.

Marvelous. I was going to try for something like this with a mirror, but this is far more, um, artistic :-) I lover her style too. Reminds me of a pointilist interpretation of Chuck Close.
