A bobcat (Lynx rufus) peers through the old woven wire fence at a distant rabbit on the other side.

Of course, this fence was not an impediment to the wildcat. He proceeded to leap over the fence without any difficulty.

A couple of snowflakes in the air, which some will flag as sensor dust spots. No, they are snowflakes. Not legal to remove under Basic Rules.

This is a wild bobcat. About 36" long and 40#. Closer in size to my golden retriever than any domestic cat.

It's a good question, which has a rational answer. Bobcats are named that because of their "bobbed" tail.

We have mountain lions in the area, too. They are dramatic by contrast because of their very long tail, almost as long again as their body.

How extraordinary. I'm guessing this is not someone's pet? I love bobcats. They look like housecats on steroids.
