Challenge: Layers (Advanced Editing VII*)
Camera: Canon EOS-5D
Lens: Canon EF 200mm f/2.8 L II USM Lens
Location: Rocky Mountain National Park, Estes Park, CO
Date: Dec 22, 2010
Aperture: f/5.6
ISO: 640
Shutter: 1/8000s
Galleries: Sky, Landscape
Date Uploaded: Dec 22, 2010

The upslope conditions and inversion layer over the front range of the Rockies.

The ISO 640 and 1/8000s was a mistake. Gave an ethereal look to the image.

Not HDR. One image. Colors on mountains and sky not altered.

See? Told you not to mind me. Congrats on your top 10.

@ Bear - so that's how you screwed up your knee...

Nicely done, Richard. Perfectly on-topic, non-exaggerated landscape layering. Sometimes I wish I had your restraint :-) But then, I spent most of my photographic life being uber-restrained, so I do enjoy busting a move or three now in my dotage...

Something about the blue tones of mountains and clouds that make this feel calming. Solid entry.

This is very pretty. If this isn't HDR, it definitely looks like it!

Well, I like it a lot, but wish you hadn't adjusted the colors on the mountains to surreal. I guess that when I am looking at photo art, I look for the reality of my experiences.

Mist is one of those things that to me does NOT benefit from Topaz. I've consistently been proven wrong by voters, so don't mind me.

Incredible shot. Great detail, yet the horizon is like a painting. Lovely tones. Excellent.
