This is great Anita. Deserved a higher score IMO, altho in a free study 5.9 is pretty darned good.

strange and beautiful, you made the sand look like snow

Nice job using the person to add interest in an otherwise dull scene (my opinion, of course).

One wonders what to make of the umbrella. Then one figures it's not snow, it's sand. Even so, the umbrella just planted there is intriguing. Interesting shot!

Similar location and tone to mine :-) This is truly wonderful. I LOVE the sky reflected on the damp sand, and the incongruity of a folded umbrella staking its claim on the deserted beach. The man ignoring it is just perfect.

Very pretty, but would like to have seen more texture in the sand.

I'm going through the entries, stopping at those images I feel have had the benefit of an unconventional eye and dwelling a little longer to try to see and appreciate what you saw. This is one of those images.

Positives: I really like this, it jumped right out at me - the coloration, the smoothness of the sand, the dark blacks, the coloration. All of the above pushes my buttons.

Critical stuff: Nothing really.

Overall: Right up my street - great image.
