A nice festive shot for this challenge. I was thinking of doing something candy related, so when I saw the candy canes sitting around, I knew what had to be done.

For the first time in quite some time, I got to use my homemade light box for this. Two lights (one on each side) shot through a white piece of cloth. The backing is a black piece of cloth, and the reflection is a piece of glass on the black cloth. This setup works pretty well, although I feel like I could still work on my angles to add more interest to the photos. That and I need to find a way to add interesting colors to the photos.

Post Processing:
* Straighten and Crop
* White balance
* Remove a piece of dust
* Increase exposure
* Increase black point
* Increase brightness
* Increase definition
* Increase saturation with lower vibrancy
* Slight s-curve
* Topaz adjust to smooth out some of the details
* Export to TIFF
* Resize to 1600 px
* Sharpen Edges
* Resize to 800 px
* Add border (first time I have done this in a while, it seemed to really finalize this photo)
* Save for web

Great shot. Surprised it didn't score higher.

My favorite for this challenge. Very nicely photographed and fits the challenge theme perfectly. Should do very well. I think this will definitely ribbon and quite possibly get the Blue ribbon.
(not voting as I have an entry in this challenge myself)

There is a way to fix that ghosting on the mirror --- use a polarizer. No vote

Very nicely shot and edited, beautiful colours, fits the challenge well and what DPC voters love to see on the front pages. Should do well. Not speaking of anything to me though. A nicely shot photo technically but, no real meaning???
