I predict that many DPCers will consider this outside the challenge topic. Be that as it may I was going for an image that would make the viewer feel a bit out of balance. You decide if I succeeded or not.

[Jan. 10th, 2011 10:22:29 PM]

This was not done with a lens baby or tilt shift lens. Rather I used the Vignette blur filter in Nik Color Efex 3.0

I find myself revisiting this image time and again. While the angle and the perspective play major roles in making this image successful, it is the filter creating the blur that really strikes the imbalance for me; I hate it and love it simultaneously. What better definition of out of balance? It feels overdone and uncomfortable, but in this contest, would be less complete without it. I would never process this way and accept this as a final product for one of my own images, but that is exactly why it resonates with me so much!

Could be a whirlpool made of stone from the thumbnail. Nicely soft, I like how thee left window pulls you away from the door so you can start again

Interesting focus. I'm wondering if it is a lensbaby image. Very effective, well done.

Very effective. It has a tilt-shift lens flavour to it but I suspect the effect was achieved by PP. I hope you let us know.
