Nice comments, thanks. I thought the key to this photo was the simplicity and the very few props used. And most of all - it has skiing in it! (I love skiing) Peas worked well as fat powder skis.

[Jan. 19th, 2011 02:40:49 PM]

Someone requested DQ on this. I will be very sad if they succeed. The background photo is for the context, the skiers are tiny and IMHO they do not attract attention away from the Ducky - the Star of the show. Go Ducky! (forward! not backwards, Bohemka :))

[Jan. 20th, 2011 07:23:35 PM]

Oh, well, the cloud of DQ is still hanging over the little skiing Ducky. But he is doing nice turns with these powder skis! Even a bit of air. Going up and up with the score.. Will he crash??

[Jan. 20th, 2011 07:29:33 PM]

PS The current score is 6.4414 (after 111 votes)

[Jan. 23rd, 2011 07:52:56 PM]

No DQ!! Ducky keeps on skiing! Will he make Top 10?

YES!! #8 and PB!!

Visited this again, it's brilliant. The sum of the parts is so transparent, it's not until I looked again did I really appreciate how clever you have been.

Haha, very funny and clever, I hope you don't get hammered for having so much of the photo be an illusory backdrop.
PS: Back for a quick bump-up. :-)

Awesome job. Sure, he's about to ski backwards off the peak, but he's prepared, with his rope and radish helmet. Honestly a radish helmet might be the safest of all, as who the heck would eat them? Nice poles, great skis. Awesome job on this.

Very creative use of vegetables! I love it! I especially like how you left a bit of the green on the radish for tassels.

I don't think an unlit match is considered a light source, but i love this picture nonetheless
