I knew that it was no winner but I loved the stance and light. As the commenters stressed, if she was a little to the left, but she would not listen to me to move and pose a little to the left. But hey, I still love her and the pic. It may not do well in voting but I have learned that is not the end of my world or career. I love photography and the dog.

nice job, i would have brightened it up a touch and maybe stepped away from the fence a bit more to exaggerate that line.

This would benefit a loot from us being able to see the fence continue. It gets lost in shadow. In a similar vein, the dog's head is the same color as the background beyond, making them bleed together. I would also consider boosting the brightness of your midtones a bit, since it seems a bit dark (but obviously you couldn't have exposed much higher since the clouds are bright).

I think maybe if this hadn't been shot so straigh on then the leading line of the fence wouldn't blend into the rock; the dog blends in too.
