This is a very typical scene on my drive to school here in Bemidji, Minnesota. Most of the fish houses in the background will stay out on the ice all winter like this, with the ice getting up to 4 feet thick. This winter however it's not more then three feet thick. On the drive to school this morning it was all gray which would've given similar results, but then this afternoon it started snowing!!! The snow almost completely wiped out your depth perception and just worked perfectly for this photo.

Editing includes just Hue/Saturation and Levels.

Great and amazing negative space shot,in my honest opinion if no houses on background were present will be better.
Congratulations.

Great shot, it really stood out to me almost like I've seen that tree before. Then I remembered, I took that same picture in the summer from that exact same spot many years ago in College at BSU!!! It won't let me post the link of my shot, you can email me at eric.hannan@live.com if you are interested in seeing it......

Great image except I think the border is a bit harsh in this situation. Also wish I could not see the buildings in the background. I think without those 2 elements this image would get a better score from me. It would make the singular tree look more solitude and give the "negative space" more room to breath.

this looks rather cold...to say the least...so I take it this is ice fishing???

Great image, I like the fact that your tree is angled into the shot, creates a nice balance somehow.

I like this, but the border hurts a bit.
