 I was attempting to re-create my spoon shot (but make it smoother - and of course using a fork), and hit upon using the TFT screen of my laptop as a soft-light ... must say it works remarkably well. In the process I wondered about using a crazy colourful pattern to reflect in the metal ... and here you go. The pattern is warped anyway on screen, and of course the metal warps it further.

A fair amount of light balance work has gone on - brightness/contrast, levels and curves all used to get the background green just to that shade. A touch of USM at the end.

Amazing what interest some good lighting can add. Not totally fond of the background because the color(s) in it are rather close to the item featured, but still an excellent study. 9

COlorful FOrk How did u do it? Nice Though, ONe thing you could of did somehting with your background lighting more to make it more brighter

Wonderful idea and execution. Exposure, focus and lighting are all perfect. Composition is also very well thought out. I'm personally not thrilled with the green felt background - think it would be much stronger with a very dark b/g. But that's pretty minor concern, it's a great entry.
