Taken in my backyard at one of my several feeders at dusk. Shutter speed 1/400, Aperature 4.5, Iso 80. Flash used. Prefocused and waited for her to appear. The picture was taken from about 3 feet away without the use of a tripod. I braced myself against the wood support for the feeder. Hummers get less timid this time of year so if you are very quiet and still they will check you out but then cautiously continue with their feeding.

Congratulations on your 12 th place finish. I gave you a solid 7, knowing quite well that your image may have beaten mine. However, this shot is so good, I did not care. Very good work and certainly a study that will sit well on your port.

Nice capture! The bird is sharp and well composed. Seems like you may already have darkened the background, but you could do it even more, and perhaps blur a bit more. It is still a bit distracting. 8

A tough shot to capture, I'm sure! The action is caught nicely, although the lighting looks a little harsh.

This is absolutely amazing! An undisputed 10. Especially considering how fast hummingbirds are always moving! Congratulations!
