those hands are too much, saying so much, so simply, becoming something in and of themselves, something hopeful.

Love the pattern effect, wish the top half of the shot wasn't quite so dark - would like to see more detail there. Still a great shot though.

I'm going through the entries, stopping at those images I feel have had the benefit of an unconventional eye and dwelling a little longer to try to see and appreciate what you saw. This is one of those images.

Positives: This is a tremendously engaging photograph. Hands, faces, hands, faces - the brain almost oscillates in pulling each out as the main focus. Our propensity to see faces and your photographic emphasis on the hands competing for primacy of perception. I love the stars on the hat too and the way the faces are lost as we move up and into the image. Your monochrome treatment is just perfect.

One thing, this image with its juxtaposition of hands and faces reminded me instantly of Marcus Harvey's Myra Hindley portrait - and although the images are nothing alike, the sensation of perceiving hands and face together brought that most clearly into my mind.

Critical stuff: Absolutely nothing at all.

Overall: Gallery quality. Among the finest images I've seen on DPC. Imaginative, well executed and communicartive.

Fantastic image. Just awesome. Of its many great qualities, the crop is perfect. It just seems so perfectly framed with no awkward half-a-face going on. Small detail, but it is the difference between a great photo and something that's truly special. And this is.
