I've gotta admit, this comment burned my ass all through voting, because I'd done my research and you hadn't.

Thanks! I saw yours too and liked it, but noticed you went b/w :) Yep, I definitely suffered because of the color, although my lighting's not that stellar either! ;)

I think this suffered because it was not in black and white. I gave it an 8, I saw the original called dody, I also was inspired by it. You did a great job recreating it and its too bad most people didn't educate themselves before voting on this challenge.

i really like the look of this one - very direct and unadorned

I like that you forsake Weston's bw. Sadly I don't think it helps. This is a nice shot, I really sense emotion from the subject and feel like I can identify with how she feels somehow. I think this kind of empathy is conspicuously missing from Weston's work (my opinion). So, I think it misses the Weston style, but is a great shot!

A black and white conversion would look great

Nice capture but why not black and white?

I hope this doesn't get overloooked just because it isn't in black and white. This is a fantastic shot and really has an Edward Weston feel to it. There are a lot of shots in this challenge that mimic his style, but this is actually the first one that I thought could have been his. Not sure exactly why... anyway, great shot!
