Nice lighting and composition. Good detail and a clear image but, if anything, this looks so staged and therefore lacks contextual interest, ie, it's a beetle on white but why, how, etc?

Nice lighting, but I would have opted for aperture priority and closed to the limit. Bumping from 5 to 6.

one of my favorites so far. the use of the shadow is really cool. the simplicity is what makes this shot work.

Fun subect and set up - I like the lighting and the resulting shadow. It tells a simple story. Perhpas a tad more contrast? Wish the light didn't glare so much off the bug's back but what can you do? Very nice! 8

Great shadow. I just wish the head was just a little bit sharper. One of my favourites none the less. Super job.

I did not expect to like this when I viewed the thumbnail, but something about the shadow attracted me. This is really a superb image. The overal composition and teh shadow are the strongest features which I might have tried to accentuate a bit. Well focused. good DOF. If it were my image, I might have tried for a bit darker shadow.
