BTW, the softness of water surface was because of slow shutter (30s), not post process.

Thanks! No, I was on a piece of ice which didn't melt quick enough to trap me. Safe and sound!

I am almost positive I have been to this very spot. My family goes camping in this valley of yosemite every summer. Crazy!

Congratulations on the ribbon, but most people who don't completely fill in the details will leave out the location. The first question that came to my mind, however, was about shutter speed to capture the water the way you did.

I was on a piece of ice which didn't melt quick enough to trap me. The foreground was soft because of slow shutter, not software.

Gorgeous landscape. Someone who knows what they are doing, both behind the lens and in the digital darkroom. You've chosen a perfect time of day and have handled the exposure extremely well. If it's HDR to get the tonal range then it certainly doesn't look it. This should be up there, at least a top 10 and maybe a ribbon. Good luck.

one of the best mtn/slow water scenes on dpc in a while.. the lighting and textures variations work well to keep my eye busy in a pleasing way

I'm not sure it is legal to take a photo this gorgeous! FG interest, Wonderful sky (I like the treatment you did), plenty for the eye to mull over and absorb! I only wish there was slightly more detail in the lower part of the trees - I might have lightened it a bit... but this really is super. Hope it does well. Good luck!
