A "selfie". What an endurance race! I still don't have a remote, so I was using the timer, running to my spot, grabbing the flowers, jumping, and hoping that I got it just right. This was as close as I got. Is it art? Is it fine? Is it fine art? Not a clue.

All I know is my calves are killing me today...

I had a teacher tell me once that the goal of a picture is to have the viewer spend time with the image and come away with something, anything. The more time they spend, the more they get. This work is one of those images that you really spend time with. If you doubt it, check out the comments... much more than the usual. Surprised it didn't ribbon, let alone get a 10. Brilliantly artistic.

BTW.. it was time you ribboned, you certainly show the talent...."Great Dames" is AMAZINGLY ARTISTIC!

I love the whimsy of this shot - the warm colors of the room complement the vibrant blue of the dress. You have the blue of the sky and the fall of 'fall' colors to bring the outdoors indoors to color the room. With the whimsy aspect it also calls to mind a touch of Mary Poppins:-)

i agree with thoughts i have read about how not having the flowers would improve it, but overall i really like it. and now that you are done with the shot, when am i getting my dress back?!

Not only are you artistic, but you can jump really high! :) Beautiful image, the bright daylight and vibrant colors make it so free, elegant and despite your trouble, so effortless looking! I can see this framed next to the one with the chair and the tea party image. And, you have an empty room for the next challenge!
Btw I don't see how you could have used a remote here :).

Oh my dear, you ARE artistic! Very! And have a fine turn of the feet, too. What more can you ask? Oh, and what a great space to shoot in. Awesome light, very airy and free-feeling - lovely! My favorite part of this, by the way, is the shadow of the foot in the window on the floor. No idea why, but there you go.

Love the contrast of the blue dress against the rest of the scene. I like the extra sense of movement that you created by throwing in the falling leaves and flowers.

This has to be in line for a win. I love the colors and the mood this photograph sets. Cropping the head was an excellent choice and in my mind really sets it off and makes it fine art. One of my top picks for this challenge

tanguera? Think I've seen those feet before? Not quite sure how I feel about the lack of a head. It's disturbing to me, which contrasts very obviously to the pleasing, warm colors in the image.

Must come back to this...

the over the top colors somehow make it work very well as a surreal Dali-esque scene.

Very fun and avant garde feeling. I wonder how many takes you had to do before you got it just right. :)
