Another one for my "Old timers with big mustaches" collection.

Had a Flickr meetup today in my usual favorite place, the Fort Worth Stockyards. It was good to get out and about, and I did pretty well for a guy on crutches. This was just a man I stopped on the street explaining that he had an interesting face and would he mind if I took a few shots of him. I'm embarrassed to say I failed to get his name. or I would have used that as the title. Since I've already used "The old timer" in a previous challenge, I'll make an assumption this man is a rancher. He at least looks the part, even if he does something else.

Anticipated comments/critiques:
-Light background on one side and dark on the other is distracting, creates a slightly unbalanced image.
-Someone will certainly guess this is mine by the style and subject.

Post challenge notes:
Thanks folks.I was hopeful of a ribbon when I saw the score staying in the high 6's, but when I began voting myself, I was in doubt of it. Lots of great entries in this challenge and I added some to my faves list.

This was also significant in that it pushed my first ribbon out of the top 5 on my profile page.

Looks an honest and good job. Not technically perfect, but much better than overcooked no.1. Reminds me of Mark Twain somehow. Congratulations.

Man you are turning into quite the ribbon hog :D I liked seeing this one in the challenge. The thing I really liked was that the hat did not create a dark shadow over the eyes. Fantastic job. Congrats on the red!

Well done yourself! Excellent finish. Now you just need a blue for a street portrait to complete three set, but alas that will knock your old timer yellow off your front page.
Way to go! Excellent portrait!

This has to be [uaer]Yo_Spiff[/user]'s. It reminds me so much of "the old timer" but with a trimmed face.
Very nice portrait. I like how his head divides the brighter area on the right and the darker area to the left.
Only criticism is that his moustache blends in with his face on the left, while it doesn't on the right. If it was shot on a bright day there mightn't have been much you could do about it though.
Still a very nice character shot.

Very, very nice portrait. Great detail, sharp where it needs to be. And the composition is quite interesting in that his right eye seems hopeful while his left eye seems a bit sad, as though the juxtaposition with the black is negative and the brighter background has a bit of promise. Great image.
