Challenge: Burst of Color III (Advanced Editing VII)
Camera: Canon EOS-5D Mark II
Lens: Canon MP-E 65mm f/2.8 1-5x Macro MF
Date: Apr 16, 2011
Aperture: f/16
ISO: 200
Shutter: bulb
Galleries: Macro, Action
Date Uploaded: Apr 16, 2011

Since the challenge description stated that we had to "Use a colorful impact to offset the subject from the rest of the photograph", I thought it was a good occasion to try again this one ;-)

I'm pretty pleased with all the debris flying around, but would have loved a larger depth of field. Unfortunately, the MP-E65 doesn't go beyond f/16, so I did my best with this aperture, and only stopped when I was out of pencils! Again, my favorite shot turned out to be with an orange one, despite the fact I also consumed some green, red, yellow, and purple ones in the process. Probably my fate.

Obviously, I do know that this shot is almost the same as my previous attempt at breaking pencils. Still, DPC's version of the first shot was not sharp enough to my taste, so I really wanted to try it again. Not a very original concept, agreed, but still took me around 4 hours of tries, so I don't feel like I've been that lazy about it.

I am usually a fan of borders but in this case i love the image but hate the border (8), even so you are still in my top 3.

speaking of impact, it loses some when it's been done almost identically before....perhaps by you, who knows. a nice shot, don't get me wrong, just not as much wow factor

Wow, beautiful, amazing, dynamic, this is a winner, I tell you. It's a shame I can't vote in this challenge, if so, I'll give it a 10.

Excellent shot, but an exact copy of gyaban's "let it rain" (even a tad better, but Christophe did it in basic editing).

it seems this is gyaban's work, or he has an admirer.

Did you catch pneumonia on the beach and did not have time for a new idea? :)
