 Entry #100 just 20 minutes before rollover.

Never even thought to enter this challenge before tonight. Decided to stop at Venice beach and go for a walk without any clear idea what to shoot. The Venice Beach boardwalk is a crazy place and always full of surprises, fascinating kaleidoscope of counterculture. I love strolling here. Candid street photography is terrific.
This guy (forgot his name, sorry) asked me for some money and I asked him to pose for me in return. He started negotiating: one shot –one dollar, I said OK, one push of a button –one dollar and he agreed. After he realized that one push of a button gives me lots of shots we both stared laughing. In the end I gave him 5 bucks and he gave me one friendly smile for free.

Love the story behind this one. :) Reminds me of a guy in Barbados who said that for $10.00, he'd climb a tree and pick a coconut. So, my dad handed him $10.00 and he climbed the tree and tossed the coconut down and said...."For $10.00 more....I'll come down again." My dad looked at him and replied..."Nah, that's ok. You can stay up there," and walked away. LOL

Wow! Excellent image! The lighting, the processing, the tones of this image all grab me. I love the back story on this one, and the "free" smile at the end makes a great ending.

This is exactly the type of image that is my favorite. Plenty of detail, texture, and it is timeless... I could look at this for hours and never tire. Absolutely beautifu!
