One of my favourites in this challenge. Winslow Homer is probably a better comparison, but I thought of Childe Hassam.

Almost looks like a painting.

My top pick in this challenge. It's fairly easy to take a decent seashore picture, but it's surprisingly difficult to take a really good one. This is a really good one, in the class of Magnum photographer Harry Gruyaert's glorious Rivages series. Beautiful work. 10. Thank you.

like a lovely watercolour; well done. Why such big borders top and bottom?

Beautiful timeless scene. I like the painting effect and the lovely colors. It's an unusual time of year for the children to be playing in the water (with their winter jackets on). The crop feels a little tight on the bottom. Other than that, its wonderful.

This has a painterly quality. I'm not sure if that severe black top and bottom serve it as well as a simpler one might have, since there isn't much black in the image itself.

I'm reminded of Winslow Homer looking at this. I suspect the computer screen and 800 pixel restriction doesn't do this justice.
