This is a view of the château de Salvagnac-Cajarc. I don't normally do flower shots or landscapes so i'm more than happy with all the love this is getting.

May 25th:
Amazing i got the blue, i was worried this wouldn't do well because it wasn't a full on flower shot, a big thanks for the votes and comments.

Absolutely gorgeous. I love how the horizon has all sorts of nuggets you don't necessarily see at first glance. First flowers and grasses, then those clouds and oh wow a castle! (I know it's not a castle but this pic is a bit of a fairy tale so I am going with it.)

I dislike this photo immensely because it's just a glaring reminder of what I wanted to do but I just did not have the time. I wouldn't have done it as well. In fact, it would have paled in comparison. I may have even injured myself. But damn it this is how it looked in my mind. As Melethia mentioned below, our topography is very similar here (our two towns even look similar; though yours seems to have quite a bit more charm - also you're much better at capturing and representing that charm). You continue to set the bar high for me, working with similar materials. Hearty congratulations.

Superb image. Bravo. Not too many flowers but they ARE there :) Subtle and enjoyable. When's the beer ready? :)

I'm showing this one off to the Tokina bad-mouthers...or those that don't consider it as an option.
I'm very happy with my 12-24mm f/4.0 AT-X Pro DX

John, perhaps you shall tell a Monsieur le danois to buy this picture from you.

Love the panorama feel about this, combined with the closeness of the Barley (I finally read the title ) pods and flowers. Such a great duality. The colours are so vivid and subtle, a lot of likable tension and contrast. Good work.

I quite like the composition - very engaging to the eye. The barley and the flowers seem to be in a random and yet coordinated dance. The colors are nice and the bg just completes it all harmoniously.

I like this, but there's a bit of a halo above the mountains which is a bit distracting. But don't cry, you will still get an 8 from me!

Lovely capture, great sense of "place". I can feel that I am standing there looking across the field and enjoying the hills and the interesting building in the background, and the splashes of color provided by the poppies. The only drawback, to my eyes, is that the barley is over sharpened, and many of the flowers out of focus. But overall, a fun picture to explore.

Terrific scene - want to know where this is! Perfect lighting and nice use of foreground flowers for color. Bumping this up to my top 10!

Lovely that you took the "easel" out and looked at the real thing, castle and all and felt the wind and the wheat spikes! Where is this happening? Please let me know.

There is certainly a painterly quality to this, and I do like the low perspective.

Love this shot, you can almost see the movement of the barley in the wind. I like the exposure on this shot too, just a little on the dark side which I think adds to the detail and 'mood'. Goods job.
