Aspens in Horseshoe Park in Rocky Mountain National Park. A late season snowstorm coated the trees. 12" of snow fell.

I did compare this entry to the fully desaturated version.

I felt the desat version lacked depth, even though it would have solved any concerns about a color cast in some portions of the entry. The challenge entry is a very accurate representation of the true light and color conditions of the scene. The desat version was not a good representation.

So, it was a conscious decision to use the straight from the camera colors. There are many areas of white-white, which tells me the camera's AWB worked well.

Four votes were scrubbed at rollover, which improved my score somewhat. I see there were 7 votes of "3". Thanks a lot.

There are two people who have harassed me over the last few years. They will always be ignored. I just wish they would redirect their attention to others. They are entitled to their votes and comments, but they severely degrade my experience at DPC.

A little jewel. A type of picture that probably most of us take and to which we all respond with a little childish joy or melancholy nod.

very nice work - excellent control of exposure to bring out the whites of the snow and to separate the clouds behind
